Hi, all,
I’m establishing the Midnight Louie category on the “real” blog here. I hope. An unconnected blog was used by the first commenters when the new web site first went up and I’d like to get every “cat”egory, especially Louie, all on the same page, as they say.
The main categories here are Midnight Louie, his own self, Irene Adler and Delilah Street. There’s also a Prose and Process category about writing.
If you post on this message, I’ll assign you to the right category. Writing is my beat; managing computer programs is not my strongest suit.
Thanks for your interest and support!
Carole, Louie, Irene, Delilah and assorted other figments of my imagination
Carole, I am a big fan of Midnight Louie and company! I am a cat lover (especially black cats) and a mystery lover. I was very excited when I stumbled across your books. I’ve only read a few so far, but am always on the look-out for more. I also have some of “The Cat Who….” books. I just finished your “Cat in a Flamingo Fedora”. I love the inclusion of typical cat behavior you use! I just adopted 2 new little black female kitties…what a hoot they are sometimes!! Thanks for your great writing!
Well, hold onto your fedora, C.J., because Delilah Street, Paranormal Investigator, joins Louie’s new Cafe Noir series with Book #1. Absinthe Without Leave, now out in ebook and print. I agree that Molina is might interesting and I expect we’ll be learning and seeing more of her going forward. Thanks for writing!
Yes, David. Caught up. Y and Z are in hardcover and the new books in Louie’s new Cafe Noir series will be in hardcover as well as softcover trade paperback editions. Took a while to get up to speed, but we made it! Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Hi, I’m your biggest Midnight Louie fan! I love cats and mysterie, having the entire Cat Who series on my bookshelf. 😉 I decided that Molina is my favorite human in the series and, since I can’t post images, here is an image link to what I think Lieutenant Molina would look like in the world of Pokemon. 😀
Keep up the writing! I might look into the Paranormal Investigator series next. I’m a big fan of female detectives!
Hi Carole,
Is it possible to get hardback editions(not large print) of “Y” and “Z” in the Midnight Louie Series? I have all up to those in original hardbacks, including “catnap” and “Pussyfoot”,and hardback editions would fit in better than the paperbacks(which I have)
Hi, Janet. The series has 28 books and some scenes are set at UNLV. I’m glad you guessed that our backgrounds matched. It was fun and enlightening to research the Elvis Presley legend, although some readers hate him and others love him. The titles are in alphabetical order, and the series ended this fall with Cat in an Alphabet Endgame. Louie shall return! In a new series. Get my annual newsletter by emailing cdouglas@catwriter.com. Thanks for your comments!
Jut finished my second Midnight Louie, Cat in Jeweled Jumpsuit. I used to live in L.V., graduated from UNLV when it was jut finished being NSU.
I could have guessed that you were an English major and former reporter; so am I. Especially loved all the references in Jeweled. Thanks everso!!
Some Midnight Louie books are in used audio: Cat on a Hyacinth Hunt, Cat in an Indigo Mood, and Cat in a Jeweled Jumpsuit. Newly available are: Cat in a White Tie and Tails, Cat in an Alien X-Ray, Cat in a Yellow Spotlight, Cat in a Zebra Zoot Suit and Cat in an Alphabet Endgame, the 28th and last of the alphabet series. I hope to get all of them in audio, but it will take a lot of time and money, I’m sorry to report. The entire series should be available at libraries in special recordings for those who are visually handicapped. Thanks for asking, and good luck finding those editions!

Well, Jane, Louie loves you back and wants me to tell you he and the gang will be showing up in some new adventures, if he has anything to say about it. (And he usually does.) Thanks for your loyalty and support!
I just finished reading Cat in an Alphabet Endgame and I am extremely sorry this is the last book with Louie and the gang. I am happy Temple and Matt got married, that Max seems to be at peace with his self. But I am sincerely sorry you could not keep it going because I loved Louie wisecracking ways, loyalty, and smarts.
Hi, Connie, a very timely query! YES, print versions available Aug. 23 on Amazon.com. (Maybe a bit later. I’ve been ill and am a bit behind.) Amazon Kindle just sent me an evaluation sheet on their publishing Kindle ebooks, which is great. I’m going tell them that the print arm of Amazon should allow pre-pub dates to show. They don’t do it because eBooks are instant. Printing can take several days to go through and customers would be disappointed if they didn’t get the book ordered and shipped right when supposedly “available”. I have an annual newsletter in print and as an email attachment and that will tell you what’s going on when. cdouglas@catwriter.com. Many of my readers worry needlessly. I’m indie publishing and my books print one at a time as ordered. The big NY publishers print thousands beforehand and can ship instantly. They also take a lot of authors’ rights forever. I’ll eventually get the Quartet out in new print and eBook versions! Thanks for writing!
